High-tension wires

I'm not sure whose decision it was to string up high-tension wires along the front range of the San Gabriel Mountains -- it's not exactly the most aesthetically pleasing thing for a mountain range that serves as open space for a lot of the Los Angeles region.

I've lived out here so many years that I've grown kind of used to the towers and wires. I'm not sure I can say that I like them, but I certainly find them photogenic in a Transformers kind of way.

I took the three photos on Saturday when a storm was clearing out of the area. The top photo had some nice light but I dig the bottom two when it was cloudier. Actually, maybe this one is best -- the one you can barely see the towers!

All photos were taken with my Nikon D5100. The 'film' look on the bottom two comes courtesy of VSCO slide film presets and the Fuji 800z setting that comes with the VSCO 1 package.

Please visit my SmugMug site to see some of my other work; prints are available starting at $11 for an 8 x 12. The prints are done by a quality firm that works with SmugMug. I have some hanging on my wall!
