Morro Bay at sunset

The photos were taken about a a very short time apart, with slightly different compositions and processing. Not sure which I like best. Both are long exposures courtesy of a neutral density filter on my Nikon D5100 + Nikon 10-24mm wide angle lens.

I think the first photo is a little more ballsy -- I really like showing only the thin strip of land (the sand spit that is part of Montana de Oro State Park) between the big sky and water. That's really the story of Morro Bay: it's a bay protected by the relatively narrow sand dunes that protect it from the Pacific.

Please feel free to see more of my work at my SmugMug site, where there is info about buying prints and licensing photos.
