Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels

Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, downtown Los Angeles.

Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, downtown Los Angeles (black & white).

Took these at lunchtime recently at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown L.A. It's a pretty striking building -- built to replace the old cathedral damaged in an earthquake.

But the building also sits at the far end of downtown, sandwiched between the county Hall of Administration and the sunken 101 freeway.

So it can often be a pretty quiet place -- a big public plaza without any public. And perhaps a little too much concrete.

Both photos taken with my Nikon D5100 and Nikon DX 10-24mm lens.
