That's Shadow Lake, one of the must-do day hikes from Mammoth Lakes, California. Start at Agnew Meadows and it's about 3.6 miles to the lake. Directions here. The pic looks better larger -- click above.
One of the iconic domes in Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite -- one of my favorite places on Earth. I'm sure this shot has been captured many times over the years. It's kind of hard to miss if you're coming down the trail at sunset.
Finally got a full-frame camera (Nikon df) and took it for a test drive this evening on the Caltech campus in Pasadena. Putting aside the issue that my credit card is now on life support, the df appears to be quite an upgrade over my trusty Nikon D5100. More on the df soon.

SmugMug lets you customize your page and sell prints and licenses -- unlike, for example, Flickr. I also think photos look better on SmugMug than Flickr or Facebook due to the way those sites compress big files.

Just messing around on tonight's dog walk with Blue, the new rescue pit bull. I fired off 60 shots or so to get this one alongside a fountain at Pasadena City College.
Been posting lots of pics of the new rescue pit bull lately. But Mr. Sam was here first. Took this one of our 15-year-old yellow lab last night using only a lamp in the living room as a light source.
A couple more of our new rescue pit bull named Blue (here are some earlier pics).
For the top photo, I used my Nikon D5100 and Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens -- set at 1.8 aperture. I was at ground level a few feet away and tried to get the center focus point right on Blue's eye. It's always good to take photos of dogs from their level instead of looking down on them.
