My best photographs, 2014 edition

I read somewhere a few years ago that an admirable goal for a photographer was to capture one good image every month. I've always liked that goal. It really reflects how difficult it is to take an outstanding photo. 

Above are my best 12 shots from the past year. These dozen were culled from a few thousand images that I took. 

Cayucos beach and egret

Yeah, I was kinda obsessed with the egret that was hopping around the beach in Cayucos. 

Bishop's Peak, San Luis Obispo

After years of visiting San Luis Obispo, we finally made the hike up Bishop's Peak last weekend. There were lots of hikers -- and lots of good photo opportunities at the top.

Surf casters and Morro Rock

Morro Strand Beach earlier today in the rain. Had the Nikon Df and 50mm 1.8 lens with me and shot in DX mode to get a little more reach (and to avoid wading too far out in the water).
