My partner volunteered at the sanctuary near Lompoc last weekend. I arrived early to pick her up and had a few minutes to shoot some of the horses in a pasture next to the parking lot.
The sun was disappearing over a ridge, tossing some pretty good -- but quickly changing -- light out there. The horses were also a bit spooky and were moving about. Getting in the right place to have light on their eyes for more than a moment was tough.
Not sure I did the right work with my feet to get in the proper position but I liked the above shots well enough to post them. The black-and-whites might need a little more processing.
